There’s light at the end of long-running street work in Henderson. A traffic light, that is.
Back in March we told you about a $6.3 million dollar improvement project on a nearly 4 mile stretch of Arroyo Grande from Sunset to Horizon Ridge Parkway.
There’s been asphalt paving replacement, as well as modifications to sidewalk ramps to meet Americans With Disabilities Act standards. The city of Henderson’s Kathy Blaha let me know they’ve just finished one of the bigger parts of that project: putting in a traffic signal at Arroyo Grande and Wigwam, where – when we talked about the start of the project – that intersection was controlled by all-way stop signs that made busy rush hours bottle things up. While she didn’t say specifically that they’re almost done with the project, which would mean living up to the original plan to wrap things up by the end of the year, she did say the traffic signal is one of the final pieces of the puzzle there. Thanks for the update, Kathy. I hope Arroyo Grande drivers notice a difference in the area.
Buckle up, drive carefully – – and put down that phone!
