Project Neon giveth, and Project Neon taketh away.
The giveth: we want to make sure you’re up-to-date on the progress being made on the biggest highway construction project in the state’s history. the Nevada Dept of Transportation says the nearly billion dollar widening of I-15 between Sahara and the Spaghetti Bowl is now 88% complete! And the NDOT social media folks are all over it, tweeting the humorous: keep calm – we’re nearly done. But don’t go thinking it’ll be over before Christmas! The final completion date is still – next summer.
Now the “taketh away” – starting this past weekend and running until November 19th, you can’t use the ramp from the north 15 to MLK. It shouldn’t be a big deal, mainly because it’s been closed several times before during Project Neon, and especially because the workaround is pretty simple: instead of going to the right on the north 15 exit to the north 95 (and MLK), you’ll just stay to the left on the flyover to the north 95, then stay right to exit at Rancho, jog north and make a quick right at Bonanza, which takes you to MLK.
Buckle up, drive carefully – and put down that phone!
