A complaint about the northern 215 beltway, and the solution that’s already underway.
Frank writes: “Because of all the new developments happening out here, when are the overpasses on the northern part of 215 (Losee, Pecos, and Lamb) going to be completed – let alone the overpass that’s to be built for Range Rd? Is it possible to give us North Las Vegans an update on this?”
Frank, we got a press release from Clark County just this past Friday that talks about everything you mentioned:
“Motorists, including those who frequent the Veterans Administration hospital, should be aware that work is getting underway on fully building out the northern 215 Beltway from North 5th Street to the Union Pacific Railroad, just west of Range Road. This roughly $70 million project includes building out the 215 to a full freeway, including new interchanges and bridges at Losee, Pecos and Lamb, including pavement, medians, lighting, drainage facilities and more. The project includes work extending south of the Beltway for Losee, Pecos and Lamb. There will also be work along the Beltway from Decatur to North 5th during the first six months.”
The press release goes on to say that the Pecos crossover at the beltway is now closed. Westbound Beltway traffic will have to access Pecos Road to and from the south at Lamb Boulevard, Losee Road or other alternative routes. The crossover will be closed for up to three months.
Thanks for writing, Frank.
