LAS VEGAS – Heads up for drivers in the far northwest. NDOT crews are busier than the short order cooks at my favorite diners: lots of orders up, and they keep on coming.
This is about some upcoming ramp closures on the big project that will eventually widen the 95 freeway from north of Ann Road up to Kyle Canyon. Starting tomorrow night at 9 and scheduled to run until 5 Friday morning, you won’t be able to get on the 95 from a couple of widely used access ramps. First: Buffalo. The wording of the NDOT news release confused me a little because it says the northbound Buffalo on-ramps to the 95 will be taken away, but I don’t know if there is such a thing. I do know you can get on or off the 95 from Buffalo, so maybe that’s what it is. In any case: heads-up. It might be easier to use your favorite other way to get onto the northern 215 beltway for access to the 95 there. Now the other ramp closure: Just up the 95, NDOT says you won’t be able to access the freeway from southbound Durango. Looks like you might have to make your way up to Sky Canyon to get onto the 95. We’ll keep you posted on any new info from the Nevada Dept of Transportation.
