ORIGINAL STORY: A standoff is currently underway in the area of Carey Avenue and Mount Hood Street. Las Vegas police have surrounded a suspect from a wild overnight car chase.
Police have said that SWAT and negotiators are currently working on deescalating the situation because they believe the suspect may be armed.

This all began yesterday around noon when the suspect allegedly shot several people. Officers spotted the suspect’s car overnight and attempted to pull the driver over, that is when the pursuit began. The suspect took police around the Las Vegas valley before stopping his vehicle in the northeast neighborhood and running into a residence.

Police have since surrounded that residence and are trying to come to a peaceful conclusion. They’ve also asked for people in that area to evacuate but many have chosen to take shelter in their homes.
