LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police investigated a homicide on May 17 in the 9500 block of W. Sahara Avenue. That’s near W. Sahara Avenue and W. Fort Apache Road.

Officers were called to the scene around 4:28 p.m. after a teen called emergency dispatchers and told them that his father, 37-year-old Slobodan Miljus, had bludgeoned his mother with a baseball bat. The teen then went up the street to a gas station.

Metro Police said everything started as a domestic incident.

When officers arrived at the home, they found the mother, a woman in her early 30s, laying on the bed and she looked like she was suffering from a head injury. Miljus was laying next to her, but he looked unharmed, Metro said. The bat was also found in the home.

The woman was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Miljus was taken into custody. According to Metro Police, the couple had a prior domestic disturbance in 2017 but it happened at a different address.
