Clark County Commissioners are forcing the owners of the unfinished Fontainebleau to cover the exterior with a wrap.
The wrap will be on the west side of the building which faces Las Vegas Boulevard.
The project started six years ago, but stalled when the economy soured. County commissioners felt the building had become an eyesore.
“We asked for a room overlooking the Strip and we’re overlooking that ugly building,” said tourist Carole Watson.
It hasn’t been decided yet what artwork will be featured on the wrap.
Wealthy financier Carl Ichan owns the Fontainebleau, but hasn’t said what his plans are for the property.
