The U.S. 95 section of the Spaghetti Bowl will close at 10 p.m. Monday night, according to the Nevada’s Department of Transportation.
The freeway will be closed through 5 a.m. Thursday morning as crews will use that time to pour concrete along a bridge that passes over U.S. 95.
Drivers will be diverted off at either MLK or Las Vegas Boulevard.
“We placed a half-dozen bridge girders each 170-foot long, weighing 200,000 pounds a piece,” said Tony Illia, the spokesperson, with NDOT. “On top of that, went bridge decks. Okay, now crews are coming in and pumping the concrete that goes over the deck and sort of ties the whole thing together.”
According to NDOT officals, “Project Neon” is now 70 percent complete. It’s expected to be finished by next summer.
