Two Basic H.S. students arrested for bringing guns on campus

Two Basic High School students have been arrested for bringing guns on campus on Dec. 13.

According to Las Vegas police, officers showed up at Basic High school to arrest a student they had been investigating. Shortly after 9 a.m., they took the student into custody and discovered a .32 caliber gun on him.

CCSD police then began their own investigation and learned there was a connection with another student at the school. They located the second student, who they say is 16 years old, around 11:30 a.m. and found a .40 caliber gun in his possession.

CCSD police say both students were taken to a juvenile detention center and booked for possession of a dangerous weapon on school property.

“I was just surprised, kind of shocked about it, because out of al my four years here, I wouldn’t have thought about it eve happening at our school,” said Shawn Imperial, student. “I’m really glad that we have school police on our campus because it keeps our campus safe.”

A Basic High school student was arrested in October for bringing an unloaded BB gun on campus.
