A tractor trailer contracted by the United States Treasury Department crashed Tuesday morning on I-15 near Glendale, Nevada.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, the driver, who was headed south, lost control causing the tractor to strike the guardrail and enter the desert area where it overturned.
The tractor trailer was hauling approximately $800,000 in dimes.
NHP secured the site until a recovery team could arrive and collect the money.
The driver and his female passenger were transported to UMC in Las Vegas with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver was cited for failure to drive within marked lanes.
