Taco Bell announced Wednesday their flagship restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip is expanding.
Included in the expansion is an additional 1,200 square feet of space, a second floor bar area, and a larger venue for hosting weddings.
The company also announced it will expand into Downtown Las Vegas with another Taco Bell Cantina on the Fremont Street Experience. The new 6,000 square foot restaurant is expected to open sometime next year taking over a portion of the old El Portal Theatre.
A representative with Taco Bell says the strip location and the downtown location is part of the company’s new emphasis on expanding into urban areas.
Amanda Clark, Head of North American Development for Taco Bell emphasized the importance of the new markets, “Our continued growth in urban, high foot traffic destinations and downtowns are a big piece of the growth puzzle as we grow from 7,000 to 9,000 restaurants over the next four years.”
