Metro Police have arrested a 29-year-old suspect in connection to a series of armed robberies around southern Nevada.

Police identified 29-year-old Lanarrd Laird as a suspect in the crimes and on December 3 around 3:25 a.m., he reportedly robbed a convenience store located in the 7200 block of Amigo Street. The clerk activated the alarm and police were able to capture Laird after a short foot pursuit.

The incidents began in December with armed robberies occurring at businesses in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson. The robberies usually took place at convenience stores with Laird matching witness descriptions of being six feet tall and over 250 pounds, according to police.

In the robberies, Laird would enter the store wearing a camouflage bandana over his face and he would demand money from the clerks at gunpoint.

During the investigation, police say Laird was arrested in connection to at least 17 events and faces numerous charges including robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a firearm.

It is believed that Laird will be booked about events in Henderson and North Las Vegas as well.

Laird is being held on $1.2 million dollar bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
