Suspect in double homicide at Centennial Pkwy. and Pecos in police custody

North Las Vegas Police arrested the man allegedly responsible for shooting and killing two people in the northeast part of the Las Vegas valley Friday.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. at Colonial Grand at Desert Vista apartments on Rome Boulevard near Centennial Parkway and Pecos Road.

Police believe the man and woman victims may have know the shooter.  Detectives think the female victim was in a previous relationship with the suspect whose name hasn’t been released. Neighbors told police, they heard arguing, screams and gunshots.

The man died outside where the shooting occurred, and a 43-year-old woman died at the hospital.

North Las Vegas Police are asking for help solving the case.

“It’s a very emotional time for some people, people involved, so, we are asking for your help in that,” said North Las Vegas Police Officer Eric Leavitt.

The woman who died leaves behind two children. They were not home at the time of the shooting. They are now being cared for by relatives.
