A man is at the Clark County Detention Center facing charges of kidnapping and sexual assault in connection with an attack on a drunken man Sunday morning.
Lance Dreux Austin, 54, is accused of raping another man at the Four Queens Hotel and Casino on Fremont Street.
The incident occurred after the Las Rageous music festival. Metro Police officers observed surveillance footage to identify Austin.
The male victim got separated from his girlfriend and friend at the music festival with surveillance video showing the victim on the ground at Fremont Street, surrounded by hotel security around midnight. The police report says the victims blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent with opiates in his system.
Four Queens Hotel surveillance video shows the suspect is seen going to the man and helping him into the casino. Austin proceeds to help the victim to the elevator and up to a hotel room.
While in the room, Austin forced the victim to undress and threatened him with sexual advances, according to the police report. The assault lasted several minutes, and the victim passed out afterward until about 4 a.m., he left the room and went to security reporting the incident.
Police found Austin a couple hours later and took him into custody. He asked for a lawyer and was not interrogated, the report said.
Officers investigated the incident and found clothing in the room that matched the suspect’s outfit in surveillance videos.
Austin is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday morning.
