Steve Wynn sues famed attorney Lisa Bloom for defamation

Billionaire Steve Wynn has taken legal action against the attorney of some of his accusers. Wynn is suing Attorney Lisa Bloom for defamation.

In the 30 page lawsuit filed in court, Wynn claims that Bloom’s comments against him were all a part of a public relations ploy to pressure him into paying money to her clients for their alleged claims of sexual harassment and retaliation.

The court documents said among other false statements, Bloom’s March 22 Press Release conveyed that when Mr. Wynn would attend rehearsals for ShowStoppers, the female dancers would be
“instructed immediately to strip down to bras and panties” so as to be sexually appealing to Mr. Wynn, who would then sit in the front row of the theatre and “leer” while the female performers
danced in particularly “physically revealing” segments of the show was untrue and defamatory because when Wynn was in his 20s, he was diagnosed with a rare and degenerative eye disease, and he has been legally blind for almost two decades.

The famed attorney, who’s also the daughter of another famed attorney Gloria Allred posted a statement on Twitter that says in part, “Bring it on. I will not be bullied. I will not be silenced.”

She goes on to say she will fight Wynn in court, and she will win.

According to Bloom, Wynn sued her in an attempt to intimidate other women, but she says this time he “chose the wrong woman.”

Wynn stepped down from his namesake company earlier this year after allegations of sexual misconduct came to light.

He has since sold all of his stock in the company, eliminating his ownership in Wynn Resorts.
