8 News Now has confirmed that Higher Education Chancellor Thom Reilly has given UNLV President Len Jessup an ultimatum to quit in a week or be fired.
Sources told Politics Now Host Steve Sebelius that the ultimatum stemmed from issues within the dental and medical schools at UNLV.
On Friday, the dental school announced that a faculty member had been re-using single-use devices on patients, causing a health scare.
Reilly and Regents have been increasingly concerned with the inflating cost of the UNLV medical school.
However, the final decision is up to the board, meaning the Board of Regents would have to go along with the firing of Jessup who has been president at UNLV since Jan. 2015.
