After being closed for more than two years due to damage left by a massive flood, Scotty’s Castle will reopen for tours.
This time the tours will be a bit different. The tours will focus on the flood recovery efforts. The ranger-led walking tours will give visitors a chance to see closed areas and see how the work is progressing and the National Park Service rebuilds and renovates the site.
Most of the tour is outdoors, but there is a look into the Great Hall of Scotty’s Castle. Furnishings are being kept at a storage site so architectural details are now more noticeable.
Walking tours are scheduled every Saturday from Dec. 2, 2017 to April 14, 2018. Tickets are $25 per person, plus ticketing fee. Space limited to 13 people per tour. Reservations required.
