As the democrats debated in Nevada, Republicans were anxiously waiting for returns in Michigan. The polls closed and the Associated Press has declared Mitt Romney the winner.
Romney and John McCain were the front runners but Mike Huckabee was generating a lot of interest as well.
The stakes were considered the highest for Romney, who needed to rebound from his second place finishes in Iowa and New Hampshire.
There was a democratic party primary as well but Hillary Clinton is the only one on the ballot and no delegates are at stake.
