Air Force One departed from McCarran International Airport shortly after 10 a.m. President Barack Obama had spent the past 18 hours in Las Vegas.
Although he was just finishing up his vacation, he was the keynote speaker Monday evening at the Clean Energy Summit and a Democratic fundraiser later that night.
Obama said feeling “refreshed, renewed, recharged” — and “a little feisty.”
At the fundraiser Monday night in Nevada, Obama declared himself ready for the challenge of dealing with a Republican Congress this fall that disagrees with him on the budget, energy policy and much more.
Obama said that as he’d ridden to the fundraiser with Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, they’d spent some time figuring out how to deal with, in the president’s words, “the crazies in terms of managing some problems.”
The president didn’t identify exactly who the two of them considered to be “crazies.”
But Obama spoke at length about his differences with the GOP Congress.
