Nevada Republican Senator Dean Heller delivered farewell remarks on the U.S. Senate floor Thursday.
He talked about his work on veterans’ issues while in the Senate and thanked Nevadans for the opportunity to serve.
“Nevada thank you for granting me the privilege of working every day for a state that that I am so proud to call my home,” he said.
Heller was defeated in his bid for re-election by Democratic Congresswoman Jacky Rosen. She takes over in January.
During his time in office, Senator Heller helped write more than 100 pieces of legislation that became law.
