Police: Teen arrested for trying to smother grandmother for prescription pills

A 16-year-old is in jail after police say he tried smothering his grandmother for her prescription pills.

Henderson Police say it happened at a home near Pecos and Robindale Roads Saturday around 7:30 p.m.

Sabrina Thompson called 9-1-1 saying her son attacked his grandmother. According to the arrest report, the teen placed a a pillow over his grandmother’s face while she was in bed. Family members told police the teen has taken medicine from the grandmother in the past.

A family member was able to stop the attack and told police it was out of character for the teen, the report said.

The teen denied the attack. 

The 16-year-old is charged with domestic battery and is being held in the county juvenile hall.
