Police search for endangered child, shooting suspect

Police across the valley are searching for an endangered child and a suspect detectives believe was involved in a shooting overnight.

Investigators say 26-year-old Amir Abdul-Rahim shot a man during an argument inside an apartment near Sahara and Decatur.  That argument may have started as a custody dispute over the child.  The victim, a man who police did not immediately identify, was shot and wounded, but is expected to survive.

Police believe the gunman took off with 2-year-old Kuwait Abdul-Rahim in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Patriot.

Amir Abdul-Rahim is 6’3, 165 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair.  Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.  If you see him, do not try to approach him.  Call 911 immediately.
