Police are investigating whether a 15-year-old who spoke with Reno police was a previous victim of a North Las Vegas man accused of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old Arizona girl.

Reno police Officer Tim Broadway said Monday that Jimmy Carter Kim was suspected of keeping the 15-year-old captive at a home in the Las Vegas area for two weeks in August.

In North Las Vegas, police Officer Steven Wiese says detectives are looking at similarities between that girl’s account and the one that led to the 26-year-old Kim’s arrest last Friday.

Wiese says it’s an ongoing investigation.

Broadway says the girl was at a Reno shelter for runaways when she told detectives she met her alleged attacker on the Internet.

Police didn’t say Monday how the girl got away.
