Police believe motorcyclist was impaired during crash that left him seriously injured


Police say a critical ­injury traffic crash happened on North Lamb Boulevard and East Bonanza Road at approximately 9:13 a.m. 

A 2010 Honda Odyssey was traveling north on Lamb Boulevard when a 2017 Baodiao 9 Lines motorcycle ran a red light and entered the intersection. 

The front of the motorcycle hit the left front of the Honda and 19-­year­-old David Avila, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. 

First responders transported Avila to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and he is suspected of being impaired. The operator of the Honda, 36-­year­-old Ramon Hernandez, remained on scene and was not impaired.
