Police: 2 safe after northwest kidnapping

A man and woman are both safe following an early-morning kidnapping in northwest Las Vegas, Metro Police said.

Just before 3 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man and woman taken from a home near Oakey and Buffalo, according to Metro Lt. Dave Simms.

Shortly after they were kidnapped, the male victim was able to escape and call 9-1-1 from a convenience store at Buffalo Drive and Sahara Avenue. Then the female victim ended up at a bar less than two miles away asking for help.

8 News Now spoke to the bartender at Calico Jack’s bar who was handling the overnight shift when the female victim came in.

Bruce Heller says he called Metro. He says, the woman told him, two men kidnapped her near the M Casino.

“She was crying and shaken up. I guess when she was kidnapped, when the car stopped at a light, she got out of the car and ran over here,” Heller said.

The suspected kidnappers are still outstanding, according to Lt. Simms. Metro Police have not released a description of the suspects involved. According to police, there have been inconsistencies in the information received.

Police are also at a home that belongs to one of the alleged kidnapping victims, however police will not confirm it is connected to the investigation.
