There’s a happy ending for the exotic animal found running loose on the streets of Las Vegas last month.

Remember the wild chase involving a Patagonian Mara that led rescuers on a pursuit through a shopping center parking lot at Decatur Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

It was believed someone dumped the animal because they no longer wanted him.

He was captured and taken to a local specialty veterinarian. It was confirmed that the large rodent is a male and he is heading to the Out of Africa wildlife sanctuary in Sedona, Arizona today.

The sanctuary there already has a female mara so everyone is hoping the two will hit it off.
