An artist from Northeast Pennsylvania Salvadore DeFazio has created a painting entitled “A Prayer for Peace,”.
DeFazio has asked Congressman Lou Barletta (PA-11) to present to Pope Francis during his visit to Washington, DC.
DeFazio is based in Hazleton,Pennsylvania
DeFazio was appointed Hazleton’s first Poet Laureate, appointed by then-Mayor Lou Barletta.
Representative Barletta will be attending a canonization mass later on Wednesday at the Catholic University of America in DC.
Mister Barletta’s staff will be delivering the painting to the pope’s traveling support staff.
