Mesa, AZ – The man who admits to selling ammunition to the 1 October shooter talked extensively only to CBS News.
Doug Haig, who lives in Mesa, Arizona, says he sold ammunition to Stephen Paddock.
He says, he first learned of Paddock at a gun show in Las Vegas when Paddock approached his booth and talked to another worker saying he wanted to put a deal together. However, Paddock and Haig never spoke and the deal didn’t happen.
The two crossed paths again at another gun show in Phoenix but Paddock could not find what he wanted at Haig’s booth. Haig told Paddock to give him a call.
Paddock did call Haig and paid him a visit in Mesa, Arizona. Haig says Paddock paid for a box of ammunition and left.
“I couldn’t detect anything wrong with this guy. Usually folks that have bad intent, they say something wrong or they just imply that they’re going to do something that’s illegal or possibly against the law. I refuse service. Everything about this guy came out fine,” Haig said.
