Officer identified in shooting during pursuit

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released the name of the officer on Sunday who shot at a suspect during a pursuit. 

Officer Brent Horlacher opened fire early Friday morning while chasing a man who ran from a traffic stop in the area of Lamb Boulevard and St. Louis Avenue. 

The suspect was not struck by the officer. 

BACKGROUND: One arrested following officer-involved shooting

The department has placed the 28-year-old officer on administrative leave pending the outcome of a review of the incident.

Horlacher has worked for LVMPD since November 2014. 

This was the ninth officer-involved shooting for LVMPD of 2018.
