Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect from an assault that occurred in North Las Vegas in January.
Police say on January 19, officers responded to a church on the 1900 block of Glider Street, in reference to a report of an assault of a female teenager.
The male suspect fled before police arrived on scene.
Investigators says the suspect posed as someone working for the church, shaking hands, and speaking with many people in attendance. The suspect then pulled the female victim out of line to “counsel” her.
The suspect then led her to the bathroom, where he touched the victim inappropriately. Once the female victim told the suspect her age, he immediately left the church bathroom and was last seen on foot on Glider street.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6’1″ tall, 225 pounds, short black hair with full beard and mustache. He was last seen wearing a red checkered button up dress shirt with blue on the shoulders, along with blue jean pants.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
