The 2019 Facts and Figures Report released by the Alzheimer’s Association has some alarming news for residents of Nevada. The numbers of those living with dementia diseases and their caregivers are climbing so rapidly that services and treatment can’t keep up. Care costs across the country right now are in the trillions of dollars. What might surprise you, even more, is that while seniors realize they could benefit from early detection and cognitive testing, very few seek it out. And the number of early on-set cases in middle-aged adults is also increasing. Sherry Swensk has the highlights for our state.
