5.8 earthquake strikes off the coast of Northern California

PETROILA, Calif. (KLAS) — Folks along the coast of California may have felt some shaking Sunday evening. A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck about 50 miles west of the California coast.

It happened at 6:59 p.m. The earthquake had a depth of about 1.2 miles. It was centered about 55 miles west of the small town of Ferndale.

There are no reports of damage so far.
