LAS VEGAS – After missing Thursday’s record high by one degree (we topped out at 96 so the record of 97 stays), Friday’s record (99) is also likely to stand with the high forecast to reach “only” 94. That’s a full 12 degrees above the normal high for this time of year (82).
A low pressure system off the coast of California is expected to move inland over the next 36 to 48 hours. This will being increasing southwesterly wind to southern Nevada. Las Vegas will see gusts up 25, maybe even 30mph. No advisories are posted as of Friday morning.
The wind will also usher in a temperature drop from the 90s back to the mid 80s. Breezy conditions will stay through the weekend.
Another weather system next week will bring more wind and even cooler air, with high temps slipping back into the 70s for Tuesday and Wednesday. The current forecast also includes slight chances for rain on thise days. We’ll be keeping an eye on that for you as we get closer.
