Metro police say the man shot by officers in a northeast Las Vegas neighborhood was wanted in a series of violent robberies.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. Thursday near near East Owens Avenue and Radwick Drive.

According to police, the man shot and killed was armed and was part of a group involved in three recent violent robberies and two carjackings. In one of those cases, a victim was shot. That person has since been released from the hospital.

Two other suspects were arrested Wednesday. This morning, police found the third suspect near Hollywood Boulevard and Owens Avenue sleeping in a car. An AR-15 gun was visible in the car, police said.

As they approached the car, the suspect woke up and began driving toward the officers. The officers fired multiple times killing the suspect, police said.
