Metro: Man arrested for battery, attempted sexual assault at Delano Hotel


A man visiting Las Vegas from Boston, Massachusetts was arrested for allegedly attacking a woman Saturday.

Jared Deflurin was arrested on April 1 around 8:40 a.m. According to an arrest report released Thursday, he attacked a woman after she left the Bathhouse Spa and Gym at the Delano Hotel.

Metro Police said when the woman finished her workout, she walked into the women’s restroom, still wearing her ear buds and listening to music, and when she looked in the mirror, she noticed a naked heavy-set man standing behind her.

According to the victim, the man, later identified as Deflurin, grabbed her around the neck, pulled her to the floor and repeatedly punched her in the face and head while yelling, “you’re going down,” the report said.

The woman told Metro police detectives that she screamed and fought for her life as Deflurin tried to drag her toward the shower area, and that’s when some people at the gym ran in to help her.

Deflurin ran took off running and witnessed told officers he ran toward the Luxor Hotel.  Security guards saw Deflurin in the north parking lot, but then he took off running again. After a short foot pursuit, Deflurin was arrested by officers.

The report said, when officers detained him, he was carrying a see-through black mesh pouch that had two condoms and lubricant inside.

Deflurin was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Battery with intent to commit a sexual assault
  • Attempted sexual assault
  • 1st-degree kidnapping
  • Burglary
