Material spill at St. Rose Hospital deemed safe

Henderson Fire says the hazardous material spilled at St. Rose Hospital was Nitric Oxide, also known as laughing gas. According to the fire department, there wasn’t an immediate danger.

The Henderson Fire Department started investigating thje hazardous material spilled at the St. Rose Hospital Siena Campus just before 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to fire officials, a worker opened the back of a delivery truck delivering cannisters and noticed a gas collecting in the truck.

People in the hospital are sheltering in place until it can be determined what is leaking in the truck.

There are no injuries reported.
