The British man who attempted to grab a police officer’s gun at a Donald Trump rally was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, minus time served and good behavior time.
Michael Sandford, 20, was arrested in June at a rally for presidential candidate Trump at the TI.
Sandford told federal agents he drove to Las Vegas from California with a plan to kill Trump. He had even gone to a gun range the day before to learn how to shoot.
Sandford had overstayed his U.S. entry visa by several months.
Sandford’s family members say he has suffered mental issues since he was a child.
