A man is dead after a fire inside a cinderblock house on Las Vegas Boulevard, near Lamb Boulevard.

The Clark County Fire Department says the Wednesday-night blaze in a mobile home park was extinguished before they arrived just before 9 p.m.

Crews entered the unit and found one person in critical condition. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Neighbors describe the victim as a man in his 60’s named Steve. The coroner has not released an official identification yet.

Firefighters say a maintenance worker had discovered the fire put a hose through the window to extinguish it before crews arrived.

Fire crews are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
