Firefighters are battling a fire in a neighborhood near the Peccole Ranch Community.
According to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, on Wednesday afternoon firefighters were called out to a home located at 9321 Sienna Ridge Dr. for reports of a fire.
When fire crews arrived at the scene, light smoke could be seen showing from a 1-story home. Crews found a small fire in the kitchen.
During their attack on the blaze, they located an unresponsive middle-aged woman in the back of the house.
She was pulled from the home and pronounced dead. A dog was also killed in the fire.
Two people have been displaced.
An investigation is being conducted by Las Vegas Fire & Rescue arson investigators, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
