A woman who was attacked by a dog was accidentally shot by the person who was trying to save her, according to North Las Vegas Police.
It happened around 6:55 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Belmont Street, which is near the major intersection of N. Pecos Road and E. Carey Avenue.
According to North Las Vegas Police, the woman’s dog bit her in the leg and wouldn’t let go, so someone at the home pulled out the gun to get him to stop.
But when the dog was shot, the bullet went through and hit the woman’s leg. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No word on what happened before the dog bit the woman, other than there was a loud noise. No one else in the house was hurt.
