Woman accused in manicurist’s death appears in Las Vegas courtroom

The 21-year-old woman facing murder charges in the death of a manicurist in December was in a Las Vegas courtroom for the first time since her arrest in Arizona a few weeks ago.

Krystal Whipple is accused of killing 51-year-old Nhu “Annie” Ngoc Nguyen on Dec. 29 following a manicure. According to police, Whipple told the manicurist she was going to her car to get money, but instead attempted to drive away from the salon. Nguyen ran after Whipple and was struck and killed by Whipple who was driving a stolen vehicle, police said.

Whipple was arrested in Glendale, Arizona and extradited back to Las Vegas.
