The Clark County Fire Department battled a fire at the Wetlands Park on the Eastside of the Las Vegas valley, just north of the Silver Bowl Wednesday morning.
The fire, which started just before 6 a.m., burned slightly more than two acres northeast of the Duck Creek trailhead parking lot, according to the BLM. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to knock the fire down. The park reopened to the public in the afternoon.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was contacted and responded. The Wetlands Park maintains a contract with the BLM for wild fire suppression in the park. Under a cooperators agreement with the BLM, the Clark County Fire Department provides resources as needed to assist.
The cause of the fire is unknown and there were no injuries.
