UPDATE: Mother arrested for making false missing child, robbery claims

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — 23-year-old Shavona Miller has been arrested by Las Vegas police for allegedly reporting false kidnapping and a car robbery claims. 

Through the course of the kidnapping and stolen vehicle investigation, detectives determined that  Miller called 911 and lied about the incident, which then caused a massive police response due to the severity of the crime.  

Miller reported her car stolen from a neighborhood near Torrey Pines and Vegas drives around 10:47 a.m. on May 14. She told police she was unloading groceries in the 6500 block of Vegas Drive when the car was taken with her 4-month-old child in the rear seat.

As a result of today’s investigation, Miller was arrested for Child Neglect, Unlawful use of Emergency Phone Number and False Reporting of a Crime. 

She has been booked and transported to CCDC.
