UPDATE: Metro officer at fault in fiery crash involving limo

Local News

A limousine crash that closed part of Flamingo Road Thursday morning was caused by a Metro Police officer.

The department says one of its officers made an illegal U-turn on Flamingo above I-15, leading to the crash just after 4 a.m.

Both vehicles then hit a concrete barrier and the limousine burst into flames. The officers pulled the limo driver to safety. There were no passengers in the limo.

Both were taken to the hospital and should recover.
