LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — North Las Vegas Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that left two people dead and seven others injured.
The men shot dead have been identified as Aljavonn Jashawnte Williams, 22, and Maurice Jr. Clinkscale, 21. The Clark County Coroner’s Office says the cause of death for both men is from a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.
The shooting was reported around 11:14 p.m. at 1200 W. Helen Avenue near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a person suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and that person was transported to University Medical Center, according to a news release from North Las Vegas Police.
A short time later, officers were notified that additional injured patients had arrived at UMC, with gunshot wounds, and one had died. Dignity Health in North Las Vegas also notified police it had received a gunshot victim who was pronounced dead, police said.
Both men who died are believed to be in their 20s. At least seven other people were injured.
No details on a suspect or motive for the shooting has been released.
