LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police reported that a 48 year-old woman died Tuesday after being hit by vehicle on Rampart and Canyon Run Drive near Summerlin Parkway.
According to police, a 63-year-old woman in a Hyundai was traveling northbound when she impacted the woman on the Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle who was travelling south on Rampart Blvd.
The fatal traffic collision happened at 12:27 p.m. on the intersection of W. Canyon Run Drive. Evidence indicates that the Hyundai turned in front of the approaching motorcycle resulting in the crash.
Emergency responders transported the 48-year-old motorcycle rider to UMC hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The 63-year-old driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and it was reported that she was not impaired.
The motorcycle rider’s death marks the 87th traffic related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2019.
The accident is still being investigated.
