A topping off ceremony took place for the Las Vegas Ballpark at Downtown Summerlin, just south of City National Arena Thursday.
The ceremony marked the construction progress and recognizes the 200 workers construction workers on the Howard Hughes Corporation project.
Numerous dignitaries signed a beam that was also signed by workers. That beam was put into position in the stadium by a crane.
The Las Vegas 51s recently announced the team’s two-year Player Development Contract with the Oakland A’s. The team will play its home, season and stadium opener at Las Vegas Ballpark when the Las Vegas 51s will play the Sacramento River Cats on April 9, 2019.
