Threat causes Catholic school to cancel classes; man taken into custody has threat history

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — St. Viator Parish School canceled classes Monday following a potential threat. The Catholic school is located at 4246 Eastern Avenue, near Flamingo Road.

Metro Police was able to take one person into custody. The man arrested was identified as Todd Pomeroy.  

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center where he currently faces three counts of threatening to cause bodily harm or death to a pupil or school employee by means of oral, written or electronic communication.  

No other threats were located, and no other suspects are being sought at this time, police said.

According to court records, Pomeroy has a history of making threats.
