Teen with gun arrested near Valley High School

Clark County School District Police arrested a 17-year-old boy near Valley High School Wednesday.

According to CCSD Police, officers were called to the area around 1 p.m. after a parent alerted officials to the fact that a teen was near campus with a gun.

Police said the teen had a loaded MAC-10 semi-automatic weapon in his backpack.  However, no threats were made.

The teen faces two felony charges, one gross misdemeanor and three misdemeanors, including a minor in possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon under the influence. 

School officials said the teen is not enrolled in the Clark County School District.
