Teen arrested for having loaded gun near Cheyenne High School

Clark County School Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for having a gun near the school Wednesday afternoon. CCSDPD said around 1 p.m. officers noticed the teen loitering in the area off campus, so they approached him to make sure he was a student.

However, when officers walked up to the teen, he dropped his backpack and took off running.  Officers were able to catch the teen, and when they looked inside his bag, they found a loaded 9-millimeter handgun.

The teen, who is a student of Cheyenne High School was arrested.  He is charged with obstruction and loitering about school with a deadly weapon.
